Fees and FAQ - Jennie Quinn Psychotherapy

Fees and FAQS

Fees and FAQ

How much do you charge?

Fees are 60 euros per session. You can pay by cash or via bank transfer, fees should be paid on the day of the session.

How long are your sessions?

My sessions are 60 minutes in duration. Sessions are weekly and normally at the same time each week.

Where are you based?

For our psychotherapy/counselling sessions, I’m based at the Healthub, Main Street, Loughrea, County Galwayon on Fridays.

I also offer Walk and Talk Sessions in Kylebrack Woods in Loughrea.

What's your cancellation policy?

If a scheduled appointment needs to be cancelled, 48 hours’ notice is required to reschedule.  If you do not show up for a scheduled appointment, without cancelling, you must contact Jennie Quinn Psychotherapy by phone within 48 hours if you would like to keep your appointment slot.

Less than 48 hours of cancellation notice will incur a fee of half the session price, i.e., €30, due at the beginning of the next session.

What’s your confidentiality policy?

All counselling and psychotherapy sessions and all material discussed will remain confidential. I conduct our sessions according to the ethical framework of IACP.

Under this framework, there are several exceptions where confidentiality may need to be broken. If you or someone else is at risk of serious harm, I may need to take this outside the room and notify an outside authority, for example, the Gardai. Also, under the Children First Act 2015, I am legally obliged to report to the appropriate authorities any issues spoken about in connection with any harm to any child, either historical or current.

I will discuss any issues around breaking confidentiality in advance, where possible.

How many sessions do I need?

The number of sessions depends on your situation, but at the beginning, we will agree to work together for 6-8 sessions initially. We will review every 6-8 weeks to check if our sessions still benefit you.

What can I expect in the first session?

For most of us, taking the first step to access help and support can be scary. So, let’s look at what you can expect during our first session.

I will gently ask you why you are seeking therapy and what you hope to gain from the experience. If you’ve been before, mentioning what worked and what didn’t is helpful.

We will go through some essential paperwork, including confidentiality, cancellations, fees, no. of sessions, etc., and I will kindly ask you to complete a form with some personal and contact details.

I will tell you about how I work as a psychotherapist and my qualifications. I will answer any questions you may have about models and techniques I may use in our work together.

The session will help you decide whether you feel safe and comfortable working with me. In other words, whether we’re a good fit.
