What Can I Expect in the First Session?
For most of us, taking the first step to access help and support can be intimidating. So, let’s look at what you can expect during our first session.

I’ll gently ask you why you are seeking therapy and what you hope to gain from the experience. If you’ve been before, mentioning what worked and what didn’t is helpful.

We’ll go through some essential paperwork, including confidentiality, cancellations, fees, and I’ll kindly ask you to complete a form with some personal and contact details.

I’ll tell you about how I work as a psychotherapist and my qualifications. I’ll answer any questions you may have about models and techniques I may use in our work together.

The session will help you decide whether you feel safe and comfortable working with me. In other words, whether we’re a good fit.
